SRL has also recently developed alternative rutile products to meet customer requirements and cater for more price-sensitive customers who need a mid-tier product in terms of grade and price. These include:
Welding Grade Rutile (WGR)
A rutile product developed specifically for welding electrode manufacturers, TiO₂ content of 95%+, ultra-low sulphur content with particle sizes suitable for welding industry.
Medium Grade Rutile (MGR)
A blended rutile product formulated with 85-90% TiO₂. MGR is designed for price-sensitive customers who need a mid-tier product, offering a viable alternative between SGR and ilmenite in terms of grade and price.
Zircon
The new plant currently under construction at SRL's Sembehun-Area 5 Expansion Project, will have a production circuit that yields final product zircon rather than an intermediate zircon in concentrate.
Monazite & REEs
SRL is also actively investigating byproduct opportunities, including rare earth oxides and monazite in ZIC product and tailings streams
